It’s that time of year again.
I like to call the IFA Convention the “center of the universe for franchising.” Although it will look different this year, it is typically a time when everyone in the industry gets together to learn, network and have fun.
There are always programs, sessions and workshops led by world-class speakers, and this year will be no different. Seth Godin and Jimmy John Liautaud both have sessions planned during the year’s conference, which is scheduled from February 10-25. According to the IFA website, there will be 190 educational and networking sessions and 10 general sessions held during the nine day, virtual event - that is a TON of information and material!
Although this year’s conference will be virtual, and I’m not quite sure what to expect, I have great confidence that they’ll do a great job. I’ve both attended and been a presenter at a few other virtual IFA events over the past year, and they were very professional and polished - I have no doubt that this event will be very well done, as well.
An Advantage of Going Digital
Rumor has it that the software platform they’ll be using to host the event is very high tech - and will be a breakthrough in virtual conference technology. If you register for the event, you’ll have digital access to this platform for months, giving you ample opportunities to watch (or rewatch) the sessions that are interesting to you.
And while we’ll be missing out on the in-person fun times and conference parties and the chance to unwind and catch up with friends, the virtual format of the conference means that you won’t have to pick and choose which sessions you’ll attend. With months of access ahead of you, you’ll be able to catch them all!
Hopefully next year the event will be held live and in-person, but regardless, I think there will be an online component as well. There are some benefits to the online model that will likely carry forward into the future - conferences will never be the same!
I’m registered, ready to go and all signed up for the C-Suite Think Tank Problem Solving session...are you?
If so, I look forward to the possibility of connecting virtually with you! And if you aren’t registered yet, I highly encourage you to do so. This is the franchise industry event of the year and everyone connected to the franchising industry can benefit from attending.
