It’s a cautionary tale about what can happen when a busy franchise organization doesn’t have the systems and tools in place to manage their locations effectively - and the important details that can slip through the cracks. It also highlights one of the proudest accomplishments of my 30+ year career: an accomplishment three years in the making that led to me ousting my competitor from a prime piece of real estate - so that I could take over the space for my own multi-unit franchise business. It’s a real David and Goliath story that inspired a worldwide leader in package delivery to revise their lease review process to ensure that history doesn’t repeat itself.
